Architecture that Solves Problems

At the Build School 2022 Forum, Vladislava Kalinina, the Head of akvk+partners, presented the results of a unique project: the reconstruction of a school that was damaged in an attack. The concept is based on our research on “therapeutic environments” and explores how space can help overcome trauma, restore a sense of security, and create conditions for the harmonious development of children. The project combines innovative solutions for working with space and a deep psychological approach. It was highly praised by the expert jury and won the main award of the festival, the Grand Prix. For us, this victory is a confirmation that architecture is capable of solving the most complex social problems.
