The ARCH Moscow Festival Awarded the Participants of the 100 Best Projects in Russia for 2020−2023 Almanac

The official presentation of the almanac 100 Best Projects in Russia for 2020-2023 took place at the ARCH Moscow 2023 Exhibition. The project for the reconstruction of Gymnasium No. 175 in Kazan, which was developed by the akvk+partners team, was included among the country’s iconic projects and was awarded an honorary diploma by Project Russia.

For our team, this project was a professionally responsible challenge. The reconstruction of the building after the tragic events of May 2021 required not just a technical update, but the creation of a fundamentally new architectural and educational environment that promotes psychological recovery and creation.

The project was completed in an unprecedentedly short timeframe. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of multiple teams and the personal support of the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan, the renovated building opened its doors on September 1, 2021. The entire process, from conception to completion, took only 100 days. We would like to thank all the project participants for their collaboration and the jury for including the project in the 100 Best Projects almanac. This recognition confirms that architecture can not only transform space, but also helps society overcome the most complex challenges.
