akvk+partners received IADA 2026 Awards for Urban Design and Master Planning Projects

akvk+partners received awards at the International Architecture & Design Awards (IADA 2026), one of the leading international architecture and design awards, for projects in the field of urban design and master planning.

The projects First Line and Soft Urbanism were recognized in the Urban Design & Master Planning category, representing two distinct approaches to urban development — the transformation of post-industrial and residential territories, and the integration of new development into existing low-rise and natural contexts.

First Line — Gold Winner IADA 2026

The First Line project was named Gold Winner. The master plan proposes the transformation of a former industrial-residential site in a coastal area with complex topography and an elevation difference of up to 40 meters. The design is based on a multilayered organization of the urban fabric, where built volumes are embedded into the terrain and form a system of terraces connected by public spaces and pedestrian routes.

The project combines residential, public, and commercial functions, creating a continuous and highly articulated urban environment.

Soft Urbanism — Silver Winner IADA 2026
Презентация результатов
The Soft Urbanism project was named Silver Winner. The concept is based on working with the site’s natural framework and integrating new development into the surrounding low-rise context. The spatial structure is organized around a system of public and green spaces, preserving the scale and character of the existing environment.
Mid-rise buildings, pedestrian connections, and landscape elements are combined into a unified framework aimed at creating a comfortable and resilient urban environment.

Both projects demonstrate akvk+partners’ approach to master planning as an integrated urban system in which architecture, landscape, and public space operate as interconnected layers. The work is defined by diverse patterns of use — from pedestrian circulation and local public spaces to the integration of mixed-use functions — forming cohesive and adaptable urban environments.
